Skilled in a wide range of woodworking techniques, journeymen handle complex projects with precision and minimal supervision. They work confidently across materials and finishes, ensuring components meet exact specifications and assemble seamlessly. Journeymen also take on early leadership in mentoring developing team members, sharing knowledge to foster growth and teamwork while upholding the standards of quality that define Sarandi’s work.

Position Details

Milling
•Uses woodworking machinery to make products.
•Exhibits proficiency and knowledge of woodworking machinery
•Proficient in the use of all necessary woodworking tools.

Leading small projects
•If assigned to lead on a part of the project, leads in the area he is assigned.
•Be able to understand and follow directions.

Mentoring apprentices
•Teaching/Training Apprentice, and Junior Woodworkers.
Architectural Assembly
•Assemblies are built accurately to specifications. Dimensions are accurate. Parts are put together properly.
•Tasks are performed efficiently and within specified time limits.
•Understand how to accurately build assemblies.
•Be able to understand and build off shop drawings.

Laminating
•Use laminate and glue to laminate objects that need lamination.

Veneering
•Use veneer to veneer the material to the object.

Helping in the shop
•Expected to be willing to help in all aspects of shop operations as necessary.
