Apprentice Woodworker
The Woodworking Apprentice plays an essential role in supporting the craftsmanship that brings Sarandi projects to life. This position involves learning the fundamentals of woodworking, tool use, safety protocols, and production techniques under the guidance of experienced mentors. Apprentices assist with material preparation, assembly, and workspace organization, helping ensure projects move smoothly through the shop. Open to learning and growth, apprentices gain hands-on experience from the ground up at Sarandi, developing the skills and discipline that define the company’s tradition of quality and precision.

Apprentices learn the basics of woodworking, tool usage, safety protocols, and techniques under the supervision of a more experienced woodworker. Assisting with simple tasks, preparing materials, and cleaning workspaces, and packaging.
Position Details

Assist on Saw
•Assist saw operator by removing parts and sorting.
•Performs work in a timely way. No distractions.

Run Parts on Edge bander
•Run assigned part through the edge bander.
•Correctly identify and run parts on the correct edge.
•Parts are run correctly and are not damaged.

Help Package and Load
•Assist in packaging of items for shipping. Items are correctly wrapped and arrive undamaged.
•Understands how items are packaged.

Help Assemble
•Help assemble cabinets.
•Assemblies are quality, no blow out. Dimensions are accurate. Parts are put together properly.
•Time is not wasted with distractions and unnecessary wandering.

Reading Blueprints
•Learn to interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications.

Other
•May be asked to do other things such as finish prep, assist in architectural assemblies. Expected to be willing to help in all aspects of shop operations.
